ATC on Tybee presents: Fly More Than You Fall meets Sun Records - Nat Zegree in concert

Nat Zegree has been playing piano since he was 3 years old, and was singing before that. Coming from a family of musicians, Nat was trained classically on the piano from the age of 3 to 18. Training his voice along the way, he discovered every other genre there was to offer. His father, Steve Zegree, gave him the gift of Jazz, Funk, and Classical Orchestrations, while his Mother, Kellee Love Haselton, introduced him to Pop, Rock, and Musical Theatre. Both of them together offered an endless encyclopedia of Musical knowledge, and from a young age, Nat discovered he could play all these things using only his ear. Although he is extremely proficient in sightreading, Nat’s true talent lies in playing pieces, songs, Themes, and Scores without any music at all… and he realized he liked to do all of these things for other people. He was doomed to be an entertainer ever since.

Since moving to New York in August 2014, Nat has been nominated for two BroadwayWorld Regional Awards for his performance as Jerry Lee Lewis in the Ogunquit Playhouse production of Million Dollar Quartet, Directed by Hunter Foster, for Best Lead Actor and Best Vocal Performance.  He has also been heard in Pasek and Paul’s new musical Dear Evan Hansen, which premiered at the Arena Theatre in Washington DC.  Other credits include: Henry (Next to Normal), Moritz (Spring Awakening), Scarecrow (The Wizard of Oz), Rocky (The Rocky Horror Show), Feste (12th Night), Flute (A Midsummer Nights Dream), and Ralph (Lord of the Flies.)  Not only has he written a few musicals that have had developmental productions, and Equity readings, but he has also released a debut album, entitled Fly More Than You Fall.  www.natzegree.com

ATC on Tybee presents: Kimberly Hawkey and Assaf Gleizner

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbrhIFJI3NY

Kimberly Hawkey is a singer, dreamer, lyricist and song revivalist, from New York State.  Floating between New York City, the Hudson Valley and the Catskill Mountains, she paints a time-defying soundscape using her crystal-clear voice across familiar and original melodies; at times soaring and whimsical; at times brassy and witty - but rarely without an element of surprise.  A modern experience of new and old, audiences can expect to hear a thoughtfully curated blend of vaudeville, hot jazz, folk music, cabaret and contemporary jazz flowing seamlessly through the ages.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Born and raised in Israel, Assaf Gleizner has been working as a composer, MD, orchestrator, and arranger both in NYC and around the world for the past 10 years. Some of Assaf's favorite credits include Stephen Schwartz's 70th Birthday Celebration (with Renée Fleming, ATC Judge Andrew Lippa, and TONY® Winners Lindsay Mendez and Ben Platt), composing the original scores of KatdashiansFriends: The Musical ParodyFull House: The Musical Parody, and the highly anticipated The Office: The Musical Parody.  Mr. Gleizner also served as arranger and orchestrator for Arts for Autism, a benefit at the Gershwin Theatre, featuring TONY®-winner Kelli O'Hara (The King And I, Bridges of Madison County, Cosi Fan Tutte), Julia Murney (Wicked) and Christopher Jackson (Hamilton).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATC on Tybee is a new concert series and collaboration between the American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC) and the Tybee Post Theater.  The concert series will feature performances by ATC performers.  Ms. Hawkey is the 2013 ATC Gold Medalist and she will be accompanied by ATC pianist Assaf Gleizner on Tybee Post Theater's beautiful Steinway grand piano.

The Johnny Mercer Gala will take place at the Plantation Club at The Landings, with members/cash bar cocktails and hors d’oeuvres beginning at 6:30 p.m. and a three-course, gourmet dinner with dancing and entertainment to follow.   Attendees will also have the opportunity to sponsor an ATC quarterfinalist contestant, and participate in the 50/50 raffle.  Tickets are $100 per plate and $1,000 for a table of ten.  A portion of the proceeds ($45) is a charitable contribution, and will help bring guest artists into local schools and further ATC’s outreach initiative for teaching great American music to children in Savannah.  Tickets can be purchased below either as a single ticket or by purchasing a full table.
