ATC on Tybee presents: Fly More Than You Fall meets Sun Records - Nat Zegree in concert
Nat Zegree has been playing piano since he was 3 years old, and was singing before that. Coming from a family of musicians, Nat was trained classically on the piano from the age of 3 to 18. Training his voice along the way, he discovered every other genre there was to offer. His father, Steve Zegree, gave him the gift of Jazz, Funk, and Classical Orchestrations, while his Mother, Kellee Love Haselton, introduced him to Pop, Rock, and Musical Theatre. Both of them together offered an endless encyclopedia of Musical knowledge, and from a young age, Nat discovered he could play all these things using only his ear. Although he is extremely proficient in sightreading, Nat’s true talent lies in playing pieces, songs, Themes, and Scores without any music at all… and he realized he liked to do all of these things for other people. He was doomed to be an entertainer ever since.
Since moving to New York in August 2014, Nat has been nominated for two BroadwayWorld Regional Awards for his performance as Jerry Lee Lewis in the Ogunquit Playhouse production of Million Dollar Quartet, Directed by Hunter Foster, for Best Lead Actor and Best Vocal Performance. He has also been heard in Pasek and Paul’s new musical Dear Evan Hansen, which premiered at the Arena Theatre in Washington DC. Other credits include: Henry (Next to Normal), Moritz (Spring Awakening), Scarecrow (The Wizard of Oz), Rocky (The Rocky Horror Show), Feste (12th Night), Flute (A Midsummer Nights Dream), and Ralph (Lord of the Flies.) Not only has he written a few musicals that have had developmental productions, and Equity readings, but he has also released a debut album, entitled Fly More Than You Fall. www.natzegree.com
